Silver Oak College of Engineering and Technology is established in June 2009 and is located near Bhavik Publication, Gota Cross road, S.G. Highway,Ahmedabad. This is a Degree Engineering College, leading to Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. The College is approved by AICTE, Govt. Of India, and is affiliated with Gujarat Technological University. This College also runs IGNOU Courses.
At present, there are more than 4000 students in various departments like Computer, IT, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical and Electronics & Communication Engineering and having 150+ highly qualified & experienced faculty members among which 10% to 15% of  faculty members are from IIT's & NIT's.
SOCET ranked 6th in GTU & 1st in IT among all 126 colleges of Gujarat based on the result of final year in Engineering (2013).SOCET Computer Department ranked 2nd in GTU and 1st in entire zone (2014).
Silver Oak College is first college among all the colleges in GTU (Gujarat Technological University) in following aspects:

• Department of CE/IT has developed head mounted device that provides 360 degree, 3 dimensional experiences for gaming, photos etc and challenged the expensive virtual reality headsets available in market with their own “SOCET VISION” goggle. This news coverage by GTPL, GSTV, Sandesh News, Bizz Channels and published by THE HINDU, Navgujarat  Samay, Sandesh and Sambhav Metro etc.
• S4 Centre With the spirit of enterprise being college motto & have been actively playing part in the development of entrepreneurial ecosystem associated with the youth and the student community globally. With a variety of events and activities under our belt, Silver Oak provide sample opportunities for both the members and the non members of E-Cell to develop their potential. E-Cell host various workshops, speaker sessions, innovative games, competitions for aspiring entrepreneurs and support them by providing necessary resources such as seed funding, mentoring, consultancy and networking. Under E-Cell are running a program called S4 (student startup support system) which is of the students, by the students and for the students.
• ROBOTICS LAB Under college tagline “We think about your future”, also take care of developing and shaping up student’s career in academics as well as in technical aspects. Keeping this thing in mind have developed “ROBOTICS LAB” in campus which is the first laboratory developed in an engineering college in all over Gujarat.
• Jed-I (Joy of Engineering Design & Innovation) programme was introduced for the first time in the state of Gujarat among all engineering colleges at SOCET. Every student is exposed to design and develop a model on his/her own and presenting it as a project at the end of the semester.
• Apple Lab-First of its own kind among all the degree engineering colleges in Gujarat and also enrolled as course in the main curriculum of GTU.
• The only college in Gujarat to have a *SMS system* for daily attendance of the students and updating with the same to their parents along with the examination related information, results, seminar/workshop/expert lectures etc.
