Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering, Tirupati a constituent college of Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, was established in the year 1959, with an intake of 40 in each of the conventional disciplines of Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering, leading to the Degree of Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.). Subsequently new disciplines and courses have been introduced both at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, in tune with the changing needs and scenario in the field of technical education.Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering is a constituent college of Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati which imparts quality education to the students backed by state-of-the-art infrastructure and dedicated faculty members which helps in bridging the gap between industry requirements and skilled manpower.  At present, the college offers 4-year B.Tech. Degree courses in six disciplines, and 2-year post-graduate courses with ten different specializations with a total intake of 220 in B.Tech. Programmes and 70 in post-graduate programmes.

Such a combination gives students the breadth and depth necessary for pursuing careers in academics as well as industry.The residence requirements for ME/MTech program is four semesters. However, it is possible to get permission to spend one semester elsewhere. If someone wants to carry out the thesis work in a company, or at some other educational institution, it is allowed by the Institute.The scope of the course varies from material research to machinery development, Nano Technology, Smart materials, Aerospace Technology, Missiles technology, CAD/CAM, FMS, CIM, Automation and such other interrelated developments.
