ABOUT US

Technical education is the most important component of human resource development. Its significance lies in the present scenario of globalization and liberalization of economy that has given an opportunity and impetus to the Indian Industry to compete at world level. Technological progress at present is faster than ever before. To keep pace with the development and progress in the technical field, Technical Institutes should not only maintain a close linkage with the industries to respond to their urgent needs for development of human resources but also be prepared for future developments keeping in view indigenous technologies and exploits 'of natural talents and resources.
The rapid industrialization of our country in this new century has necessitated multiplication of the facilities for technical education. This phenomenon led to the foundation of "Siwan Engineering & Technical Institute, Siwan" on 19th Nov. 2000 which was inaugurated by the People of Siwan.
Siwan Engineering & Technical Institute is approved by AICTE, New Delhi recognized by Govt. of Bihar and affiliated to J.P. University, Chapra and right now it has following courses both technical and Professional in the field of Engineering and Management at the Graduation and Post Graduation level:-

This Institution is one of the member of the Association of Unaided Private Minority Engineering colleges of Bihar.
Siwan Engineering & Technical Institute is located at east-south comer of the Siwan along Siwan-Chapra Road,(Railway crossings at Chanp Dhala) spread over an area of 325 acres at a distance of about 3 kms from Siwan Railway Junction. It is a few minute walk from Chanp Dhala (Railway crossing) towards south.
The weather conditions are usually pleasant with temperature variations from 5° to 40° C and rainfall of about 100 em. The campus has unique location in the sense that it is free from environmental pollutions.

To update, well groom and drill the students in communication technology and electronics, the college has made commendable efforts that find mention below:-
The college possesses Developed labs in the field of advance communication of Digital processing. In the electronics lab, students work with the modern platform like MAT-LAB & TINAPRO for the
use of some inter disciplinary projects that are also developed the college.
The department has committed faculty with meticulous teaching and technical experience. Modern laboratories with expert lab instructors are a special feature. Another unique feature of the department is that it provides technical facilities for developing in-house projects as part of the curriculum in supporting R&D works. The department conducts supplementary technical programs, industrial visits, technical exhibitions, regular seminars and invited talks in current topics. The department brings out the best from each student and has made them excel in national level technical summits. In recognition of the excellent facilities, AICTE has sanctioned an additional batch of 60 students from 2006 onwards.
The department library has an extensive collection of books, journals and other documents to lend a hand to students.

Core subjects 

The course structure is updated regularly and in tune with the latest Communication scenario. Topics like Signal & Systems, DSP, Micro controller Based System Design, VLSI Technology, Computer Networks, Advanced Communication Systems, VHDL, Advanced Mathematics, Embedded Systems, System Software, OOPS, Digital Image Processing are all included with core subjects.

Computer Science and Engineering The department of CSE is innovative march for students to avail opportunity to work on various hardware and software platform. The computer labs are equipped and regularly enriched with latest technologies consisting of High end Nodes linked with servers through LAN. This network gives student a high speed connectivity thought LAB by RF link . The Department moulds young outstanding engineers who are academically strong in both theory and practical. It organizes various supplementary programs, which include Paper Presentations, Technical seminars &Mock Interviews in order to prepare the student for a career in the computing field or for graduate study. Special orientation is provided to the staff periodically for updating their acumen and to imbibe the latest technological changes. The staff and students are members of the Computer Society of India.
Computing Facilities 
The computing facility of the Department consists of state-of-the-art network of computers with more than 250 nodes spread over 7 separate labs running with Linux Server & Windows 2000 servers. The various labs are Project Lab, Graphics Lab, Hardware Lab, Programming Lab, System Software Lab.
Library 
Apart from the college central library, a separate library is functioning in the Department with the perspective of providing latest computer books for reference and preparation of Project & Seminar reports.

The electrical Lab of the college is fully furnished with well equipped lab materials. Labs consist of DC-Machines, starters, induction motors, industrial capacitors, Electrical measurement and measuring instruments. The department aims at making a professional out of every student with a comprehensive knowledge of the latest developments in the field. Well qualified and committed faculties are a distinguishing feature of the department. The department has started Energy Conservation Society (ECS) chapter and is conducting various seminars and programs for enhancing the knowledge of students. Department is also conducting programs like personality development, industrial visits and interaction with eminent personalities through Electrical& Electronics Association. The Department library has a large collection of books, BIS codes, journals and proceedings.
Core Subjects
They include Electrical Machines, Power System, Control Systems, Network Theory and Electrical Measurements and Instrumentation. The Syllabus is designed such that the students get maximum exposure in the field of Electronics also. The subjects covered include Digital Electronics, Communication Engineering, Power Electronics, Electronics Circuits, Linear Integrated Circuits, Digital Signal Processing, Microprocessor, Micro - Controllers etc.
